It has been used as a traditional sweetener for thousands of years in the tropical and subtropical regions, where the coconut palm tree grows, mostly known in South and South-East Asian regions.
Coconut sugar is mainly made of sucrose, which makes it sweet, with a slight hint of caramel. Unlike white refined sugar, the coconut sugar is unrefined and unprocessed, made from 100% coconut nectar, which is rich in 16 essential amino acids involved in heart health and brain function.
